The Golden Mile

Visited the Golden Mile in North Scarborough today. In the 1940s, the area was used primarily for munitions manufacturing. Today, it houses mostly auto repair and servicing, with some smaller-scale manufacturers throughout. The area is a strange industrial oasis in a sea of box-store developments - a RioCan to the West, Smart! Centres to the North. With the construction of the Eglinton LRT, there is room for some innovative employment uses in these old manufacturing spaces.
